Two more individuals have been apprehended in the ongoing investigation into the theft of cash from the residence of former Sanitation Minister Cecilia Dapaah.
The arrest of two more suspects was announced in court on Wednesday, August 2, by police prosecutor DSP Emmanuel Nyamekye when the case was called.
Five persons had already been arrested for their alleged involvement in the stealing of a million dollars, 300,000 euros, and personal goods worth thousands of Ghana Cedis at the private residence of former Sanitation Minister, Cecilia Abena Dapaah.
The accused, however, were not present in court because the prosecution said that the detectives were in Tamale for additional investigation.
The accused persons standing trial for the alleged theft have increased to seven following the arrest of the two new suspects.
One of them, the second accused, Sarah Agyei, was granted bail last week but she is yet to meet the bail conditions.
The other six including the two new arrests have been remanded into police custody.
The case has been adjourned to August 8.
