A young man suspected of being gay was stripped naked and paraded through the Bibiani Ahwiaso Bekwai Municipality in the Western North Region.
The victim was beaten by a mob of young men who claimed he was performing a demonic act and attempted to kill him.
The victim is said to be a Bibiani Old Compound resident who went to Hwenampori, another community in Bibiani township, to meet another young man in whom he had expressed interest.
According to Rainbowradiooine.com, the victim met the young man who lured him into the area so his other friends could attack him and expressed interest in him.
The victim is said to have asked the other guy to date him and to support him financially.
Speaking to the media, the young man who lured the victim to the area alleged that the victim met him while he was buying food and expressed interest.
The young man said he was shocked, so he taped their conversation and pretended to be interested.
He then conspired with his friends to lure the victim to his location.
When they arrived, the victim was abused, beaten, stripped naked, and paraded through the neighbourhood.
The victim was injured, and it took the intervention of another community leader, Sibo, who told the attackers not to attack him.
Sibo is said to have told the attackers that even if the victim had broken the law, the attackers could not take the law into their own hands.
The attackers he revealed wielding clubs, stones, and offensive items wanted to kill him, but Sibo stopped them, and he was later handed over to the police.
