Eight more persons have been arrested in connection with the Bawku conflict.
They were arrested through a joint Police and Military patrol team operating in Bawku.
According to the security, there were gunshots in Daduri, a suburb of Bawku between 1 pm and 2 pm on Monday, 14th August, 2023.
As a result, the joint Police and Military patrol team moved in with the armoured vehicles to deal with the situation.
In the process of the operations, the team led by Major Col Darkwa team arrested eight suspected combatants.
An AK 47 rifle and three (3) magazines containing 58 rounds of ammunition were retrieved from one of the suspects.
The suspects have been identified as Yakubu Seidu – 42 years, Issah Abdulai -36 years, Sadat Sulemana -19 years, Ibrahim Musah -18 years
Lamin Rahman -23 years, Majeed Ibrahim -23 years, Iddrisu Shabban-42 years and Misbawu, 26.
The information available indicates that all eight suspects were airlifted to Bolga and handed over to the Upper East Regional CID for further investigation.
Five other suspects have already been arrested last week following a shooting incident which left one dead and 3 others injured.
