President Akufo-Addo has reiterated that he has not endorsed any candidate in the proceedings leading up to the election of the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) presidential candidate.
Speaking to reporters after casting his ballot, he stated that some have accused him of endorsing and supporting a candidate.
He, however, called such information untrue and stated that he has not endorsed any candidate.
He also stated that those who accused him of endorsing a candidate had called him and asked him to back their candidate.
The President noted that he does not have the authority to choose who will lead the party in 2024 because that authority is reserved for the delegates.
He said I have been accused of endorsing a candidate, but I have not done so, but these same “people are calling for me to endorse their candidate. I haven’t endorsed anybody. The election is not mine. I don’t decide it. It is the delagates of the party who decide it”.
