Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has secured the top position at the New Patriotic Party (NPP) superdelegates conference.
He secured 629 votes, representing 68.15% of the vote.
Assin Central MP Kennedy Agyapong came in second with 132 votes, or 14.30%, while former Trade Minister Alan Kyerematen placed third with 95 votes, or 10.29%.
Meanwhile, Adai Nimo and Boakye Agyapong secured 9 votes each.
This means the party would have to go for a run-off between the two to determine who will join the four others who have booked a place in the November 4 presidential primary.
Former Speaker of Parliament Aaron Mike Oquaye, addressing journalists after the official declaration of the results, said they would go for a run-off in a week if no one steps aside for the one to join the four others.
