President Akufo-Addo has emphasized the government’s commitment to strengthening Ghana’s security system to protect the nation from potential terrorist threats.
President Akufo-Addo stressed the need to improve Ghana’s security measures following recent attacks in neighbouring countries like Burkina Faso.
His remarks were made at the start of the International Maritime and Exhibition Conference, which was held at Burma Camp.
The President said his administration remains committed to fortifying the country’s security infrastructure to effectively counter any potential security breaches.
He added that the government’s commitment extends to ensuring the safety of Ghana’s territorial waters.
“The government recognises the need for a well-resourced and technologically advanced Navy. We have commenced equipping the NAVY with Drones, coastal radars, real-time surveillance and tracking protocols in other to improve maritime domain awareness,” Akufo-Addo said.
