The New Patriotic Party’s National Council will vote in a run-off election on September 2 to break the stalemate between Boakye Agyarko and Francis Addai-Nimoh.
The run-off will determine which of them will join the four other candidates who have already secured a spot in the November 4, 2023 elections.
The decision was made following a meeting of the party’s National Council on Wednesday, August 30, 2023.
On Wednesday, the National Council discussed the issue and decided that the run-off should take place.
However, only the National Executive Council members will vote in the run-off.
According to General Secretary Justine Frimpong Koduah, the decision is to save time and cost.
He added that it will be held at its headquarters at Asylum Down in Accra.
