John Dramani Mahama, the 2024 presidential candidate for the National Democratic Congress, has requested party faithfuls to participate fully in the upcoming limited registration exercise.
Mr. Mahama emphasized the importance of every NDC member taking the exercise seriously to ensure the party’s return to power in 2024, stating that Ghanaians are seeking the party to save the country from the difficulties imposed by the governing New Patriotic Party.
The former President of Ghana, in a Facebook live session on September 6, asked his NDC comrades to prioritize the upcoming exercise and put aside other activities to focus on the task at hand.
“Let me urge all my fellow citizens, especially the youth, to take this exercise seriously. It is your opportunity to hold your leaders accountable. It is about your rights; it is about your future! It is about our dear nation, Ghana.”
“Let us join hands and work together towards Building the Ghana We Want. Thank you, and may God bless us all.”
This comes after the EC announced a limited voter registration period for eligible Ghanaians who turned 18 after the 2020 registration period, as well as other eligible voters, from September 12, 2023, to October 2, 2023.
According to the EC’s Chairperson, Jean Mensa, the exercise will take place at all of the EC’s 268 district offices across the country.
