I’m NPP by blood and I’ve scarified a lot for the party – COP Alex Mensah

Retired Commissioner of Police, Alex Mensah, says he has made significant sacrifices for the New Patriotic Party and hopes their support will make it easier for him to contest the Bekwai constituency primary.

The retired officer expressed his unwavering support and ties for the NPP, stating that he would never turn his back on this support.

He claims to be NPP-blooded and aims to continue the legacy of the current MP and First Deputy Speaker, Joseph Osei Owusu.

The retired officer expressed his decision to contest the parliamentary primaries after careful consideration and preparation.

He emphasized his identity as a community member and his readiness to serve the people.

“I have been an NPP sympathiser. I have remained loyal to the party and made significant sacrifices for the elephant family. I don’t want to brag or blow my own horn, but the NPP is in me and will not leave.

I’d like to run for the Bekwai seat. My passion is to serve Ghana and its people. I am healthy and strong, and I do not want to sit idle when I can put my experience and skills to good use. I have policies and initiatives in place that will help to transform the lives of my constituents. I want to assist and find ways to help the constituency grow.”

The senior officer, who retired recently after over 30 years in the Ghana Police Service, expressed optimism that the governing NPP could break the 8-year-jinx and emphasized the need for unity within the party.
