Is Bawumia’s campaign team plotting an equal showdown against Ken Agyapong?

September 28, 2023

The minutes of a meeting where several assigns and campaign team members of Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia have plotted to respond to what they described as attacks on the Veep by aspiring presidential candidate Kennedy Agyapong.

Among other things, the team at the said meeting agreed to circulate videos and audio recordings in which Kennedy Agyapong had praised the Vice President and circulate them in the traditional media and social media.

Aside from that, it was agreed that anytime Kennedy Agyapong appears in an interview in the media, the campaign team of the Vice President must be deployed to counter what the Assin Central MP had said.

Beyond these initiatives, the campaign team of the Second Gentleman of the land has been tasked to constantly come out with write-ups backed by facts and propaganda as appropriate on Kennedy Agyepong.

This is intended to expose him; the intercepted minute, revealed.

“We are to give such write-ups the necessary publicity on both traditional and social media,” the minutes added.

Another issue that came up at the said meeting was that the team ought to stop Kevin Taylor, whom they described as a surrogate attacker of the Vice President.

To achieve this, the said minutes identified Okatakyie Afrifa as someone they intend to engage to directly neutralise Kevin Taylor.

Furthermore, the campaign team raised concerns over what they referred to as insulting attacks launched by principally NDC panellists on live media discussions against the Vice President.

To address this challenge, the team of DMB panellists has been asked to first draw the attention of hosts and panellists to the insult or offensive words and demand the withdrawal of the same comments. If there is no positive response from hosts or panellists, our panellists are free to use the same offensive words against John Mahama.

The minutes said, “The host should also be forcefully accosted by charges against or about them that directly puts them in the line of fire… i.e., putting them also on the defensive.

The extensive Joy FM report that exposes the Bawuliar agenda of the NDC should be regularly dusted up and reshared widely”.

The purported minutes added that “Even when newspaper editors carry favourable front-page stories, the stories do not necessarily get saturation discussion on the various radio and TV discussions.

Active engagement of key radio and TV hosts and social commentators. In particular, perceived neutrals or non-party people who often comment on national issues in the media should be engaged to help in setting our agenda.”

The meeting is said to have been held on September 21, 2023.
