World Sight Day: My Eye Centre and Lions International to organise free screening and distribute over 500 glasses

My Eyes Centre, in collaboration with the International Agency for Blindness Prevention (IAPB), and Lions International as part of the activities marking World Sight Day 2023, will be organising free eye screenings in the Tema community and its environs.

My Eyes Clinic is an optometry practice duly registered and operating with state-of-the-art facilities in East Legon and Tema.

The screening will see a team of optometrists providing quality eye care services to the people of Tema and its environs.

The organisers, aside from the free eye screening, dispense over 500 reading glasses and other eyeglasses to those who will participate in the event.

The event is slated for Thursday, October 12, 2023.

Distinguished members of parliament, municipal executives, and Lions Club International Ghana will be there.

Other corporate organisations attending the event, including Total Energies, Vision Spring International, Donewell Insurance, Tema Joint Church, Ace Management Consult, and Brown Hills Residences Peduase, will all be present.

Speaking ahead of the event, Lion Bismark Kodua stated that the exercise was part of an effort to promote awareness about eye care and the importance of regular medical check-ups for the public.

He stated that the eye is an important aspect of the body and that people should take care of it.

He explained that the club remains committed to caring for people and making their communities better and one of their core objectives is to drive a campaign on eye care.

He said being a Lion is about leading by example, building relationships and improving the world through kindness.

Lion Kodua stressed that the event is aimed at raising awareness so they can make a lasting impact and change more lives.
