Member of Parliament for Builsa South, Dr. Clement Apaak, has expressed disappointment in Kofi Bentil for distancing Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia from the abysmal performance of the Nana Addo-led administration.
He called the lawyer’s actions an embarrassment, claiming that the second gentleman of the land could not be spared from the mess produced by the inept government.
Imani Vice President Kofi Bentil has declared that his confidence in Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia remains because he has not changed since assuming the office of Vice President.
In an open letter to the Vice President, Kofi Bentil said he has long assessed Dr. Bawumia and held the view that he’s the best compared to the others who are contesting him.
“Years ago I assessed the field and, before anyone did, I boldly declared that of them all, you were the best,” wrote Kofi Bentil on Facebook.
“I promised to watch closely and said I would change my mind if you changed, or other facts came up. I am glad to say, across the years you have proven that my trust was not misplaced.”
He commended Dr. Bawumia for his contributions to the government by leading many impactful policies.
He described him as loyal stressing that Dr. Bawunia cannot be faulted for the government’s “baggage,” which he said was not the Vice President’s fault due to his limited powers.
In reaction, Dr. Apaak regarded Mr. Bentil’s position as an embarrassment.
He claimed that a middle-class neutral wanting to exonerate Dr. Bawumia from this government’s economic catastrophe is nothing short of a coward.
He pushed him to be brave and call out Dr. Bawumia for his role in the current disaster.
If he lacks the courage to do so, he should join the DMB team and campaign for him.
“I’m embarrassed by Kofi Bentils’ pitiful attempt to distance DMB from the abysmal record of a gov’t he has been front and centre. A middle class ‘neutral’ seeking to exonerate DMB from the terrible mess gov’t has plunged our nation into? Be BOLD Kofi, just join the DMB team wai.”
