Post budget workshop should be held in Parliament to avoid cost – Kofi Adams

Kofi Adams, the Member of Parliament for the Buem Constituency in the Oti Region, has said that the 2024 post-budget workshop should not be held outside the party.

According to Kofi Adams, the parliamentary leadership committee should not hold the 2024 budget workshop for lawmakers outside parliament to save money.

He said the country is currently in economic turmoil, and hosting the budget workshop outside Accra will incur extra costs and funds that can be used to solve some of the problems at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital in Accra or provide aid to the victims of the Akosombo Dam Spillage.

“The Finance Minister will come and read the budget on November 15, and after that, we will go outside Accra for the post-budget review on November 17, we all know the current economic situation and we have to save money.”

“If we do the post-budget review here at Parliament House, we can use that fund to solve problems at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital in Accra or provide aid to the victims of the Akosombo Dam Spillage.”

“So it is my position that the budget review will be held right here in Accra to save cost because of the times we have ourselves in,” Kofi Adams said on Rainbow Radio.
