Bring back Samuel Boadu – Dan Qauye tells Hearts of Oak after sacking Martin Koopman

Former Ghana international, Dan Qauye has called for the return of Samuel Boadu to Accra Hearts of Oak after the club parted ways with Dutch trainer, Martin Koopman.

Accra Hearts of Oak announced on Tuesday, November 14, 2023, the mutual contract termination of Martin Koopman due to the club’s struggles in the ongoing 2023–2024 Ghana Premier League.

The Phobians amassed only 12 points on the table, winning 2 games out of 10 games, making the board press the contract termination button.

Speaking on the possible successor to the Dutchman, Dan Qauye called for the return of Samuel Boadu, the coach who 5 trophies in two years for the Phobians and also ended the club’s 10-year wait for a trophy.

“For me, I will say they should bring back Samuel Boadu because he brings a certain quality on board and he is now a national team coach. Boadu also has an eye for good players, and he is a quality coach. But at the end of the day, even if you bring Mourinho and the players continue with their bad attitude, nothing will change,” he said on Rainbow Radio Accra.

Dan Quaye also called on the Board to stop signing players for coaches and expect them to win titles with a team assigned to them.

“The coach is now gone, but it is time for the players to step up and perform because they have a legacy to protect. Because if we had played like this, they wouldn’t have gotten anything to brag about to their rival fans. They should stop the social media hype and play better football.”
