The Social Welfare Unit in Senya Beraku in the Central Region has confirmed receiving a two-year-old boy whom a hunter rescued from the police in the community.
Rainbow Radio Accra reported on Monday, November 27, 2023, that a two-year-old boy had been rescued as he was on the verge of being used for rituals.
With the police still on the hunt for the parents of the child, Benjamin Narh, the unit social welfare officer in Senya Beraku, has told Rainbow Radio Accra that the boy is suffering from congenital disorder movement (cerebral palsy).
He said nobody has come forward as the parent or guardian of the child, so the social welfare unit is taking steps to give the child proper medical care while they hand him over to the orphanage home in the community.
Rainbow Radio Accra’s Oheneba Ademah, who earlier broke the story, said they initially suspected that someone took the baby to the bush to use him for rituals, but it is possible that the mother took her baby there and left him to his fate because he is suffering from cerebral palsy.
