The party’s leadership has called off the Evalue-Ajomoro-Gwira New Patriotic Party (NPP) parliamentary primary due to a disagreement over the polling location.
The constituency is one of five orphan constituencies in which the NPP is holding parliamentary primaries today.
The primary, however, had to be cancelled due to disagreements over where the exercise should be place.
The election was planned to take place in Gwira-Bamiako, but the Municipal Security Council (MUSEC) advised rgd party to organise the primary at a neutral location in Ellembelle following last week’s protests over the area’s underdevelopment.
The party set up two different locations where the primary was to be held at Gwira-Bamianko and Axim, a situation that confused the Electoral Commission.
The Evalue-Ajomoro-Gwira NPP Primary is being contested by former MP, Catherine Abelema Afeku, and Justice Kangah, a businessman.
