District Chief Executive for Awutu Senya West District in the Central Region, Joseph Aidoo, has spoken against punishment where students are made to weed the campuses.

According to him, weeding shouldn’t be given to students as punishment because it takes their farming interests out of their hands while they grow.
Joseph Boakye said he is not telling authorities not to punish students, but he urges them to use other means without conditioning the minds of the students to think that farming is painful.

“It will deter them from entering into farming when they grow,” Joseph Aidoo told Rainbow Radio Accra during the Farmers Day Celebration on Friday, December 1, 2023.

The best farmer for Awutu Senya West District in 2023, Stanley Kwao Bentum, also used the opportunity to encourage the youth to go into farming.
