Member of Parliament for Amasaman, Akwasi Owusu Afrifa-Mensa, has appealed to constituents with deplorable roads in their areas to exercise patience as the government is working to repair them.
The MP argued that development is a process and the constituents will have their fair share of the national cake.
Speaking in an interview on Frontline on Rainbow Radio 87.5 FM, the lawmaker indicated that he was extremely grateful to the voters in his constituency for the massive endorsement they gave him in 2020.
According to him, although the residents had terrible roads in the constituency, they still voted for him as their MP in the 2020 parliamentary election.
“I want to extend my gratitude to the constituents in Amasaman. In spite of their very bad roads, they voted for me as their MP.
But I will appeal to them to exercise patience. Development is a process, and I don’t begrudge them when they demand good roads and other projects. Their roads have been in a terrible state for far too long. But I will still appeal to them. The terrible roads in the constituency are not just one but several. We are working on them. We have worked on some of them.
We will work on the terrible roads in the affected areas. We cannot repair all the roads in even four years. We are working on them. I have lobbied and written several letters to different people and asked that they repair the roads. I campaigned strongly on roads, and so I have lobbied to have the deplorable roads repaired, and we will work on them,” he added.
