The Ashanti Regional Fire Service has revealed statistics recorded in the region from January to November 2023.

According to the statement aired on Rainbow Radio Accra, 893 fire outbreaks were recorded in the Ashanti Region, and nine people died in the disaster.

DO III Peter Addai, the Regional Public Relations Officer (PRO) for the Fire Service, revealed that 379 out of the 893 were domestic fire outbreaks.

“The figures were reduced from those of 2022. 893 fire outbreaks were recorded by the close of November, and if you compare it to that of last year, where we recorded 1033 within the same time frame, it shows it has reduced.”

“893 domestic fire outbreaks were the most recorded in the fire. Commercial fire outbreaks came second to bushfires. The domestic fire outbreaks are more dangerous, and out of the nine people who died, most of them were at home and couldn’t be saved,” DO III Peter Addai said on Rainbow Radio Accra.
