The Municipal Chief Executive for the Effutu Municipal in the Central Region, Alhaji Zuberu Kassim, has called for peace and unity amongst the various masquerade groups in the area.

Alhaji Zuberu Kassim said they had problems during the celebration of their festival in January 2024 because of a misunderstanding between some of the Masquerade teams.

However, he and the planning committee have put measures in place to resolve the misunderstanding and have urged the various groups to help make the celebration of the festival a success in January 2024 in Winneba.

“There were some misunderstandings between the various groups in the previous years, but this year we gave the organisation of the event to religious leaders, so it will help us celebrate this in peace. They have been able to resolve the impasses, and this year we will have a great event,” Alhaji Zuberu Kassim said on Rainbow Radio Accra.

Most Rev. Father Aaron Moses Ato Kwamena, Chairman of the Winneba Masque Fest 2024 and Head of the Anglican Church in Winneba, also invited the world to the festival.

“This is a festival we celebrate every January, and we are telling the world that we will celebrate it in 2024, and I can tell the world that it will be great because all the groups will come together and have put all their differences aside.”
