The District Level Elections (DLEs) are planned to take place today, Tuesday, December 19, 2023.
In the local elections, 66,257 people are running for assembly and unit committee positions.
The statistic includes 18,755 assembly member candidates and 47,502 unit committee member candidates.
The elections are being held in 6,215 electoral areas spread among 216 Metropolitan, Municipal, and District Assemblies (MMDAs).
According to the EC, preparations for a successful election are well underway.
The EC claims that enough preparations have been made to ensure that there is no lack of voting materials at any polling place today.
