Former Member of Parliament for Gomoa East Constituency in the Central Region, Kojo Asemani, has cautioned the general public, especially the youth, to deviate from what he described as a politics of insult to promote peace and tranquilly come the 2024 general election.

According to the former New Patriotic Party (NPP) legislator, we can’t afford to lose the peace the country is enjoying, and there is only one, hence the need to protect it collectively.

Kojo Asemani made this call in an interview with Rainbow Radio Accra’s reporter, Oheneba Ademah when Gomoa Mamfam Nana Abekah Sika fed over 1,200 children.

“Election year, I am begging Ghanaians, especially the youths, that we want peace. The election is about ideas on who can govern the country better, and it is not about insults and other means of violence.”

“So I am telling the youths to argue on ideas and not resort to the use of violence or insults, and at the end, we will know the winner of the December 7 elections peacefully,” Kojo Asemani said, as aired on Rainbow Radio Accra.

The Odikro of Gomoa Mamfam Nana Abekah Sika, who organised the programme, hinted that the youth and children are the future leaders, and parents must take proper care for a brighter future.

“Education is very important, and parents must help their children to be better individuals in the future. I want my community to prosper, and shortly, I want to see kids today become prominent in the country at large, so I will not joke with any child I see on the streets who is supposed to be in school. If you are a parent and you need help, come to me at the palace because I am serious about this project.”
