A former director of communications at the presidency under the late John Evans Atta Mills has advised President Akufo-Addo to use his final terms as president to reflect on what he told God when he visited the wailing wall in Israel to pray when he was contesting the 2016 presidential election.
Koku Anyidoho said if he were to be one of the advisors to the president, he would have asked him to frame that picture and hang it in his office to remind him of what he told God before he was elected president.
Speaking to Kwabena Agyapong on Frontline on Rainbow Radio 87.5 FM, he said, ”I was going through my archives and saw the picture of Nana Addo before the wall, and I said to myself, See how time flies. I told myself that the president was the only one who knew the kind of prayer he prayed at the location.
If I were him or one of his advisors, that would be his point of reflection. He is a Christian and believes in the Bible. He went to pray and said something to God. You made some concessions with God and were elected president, and in this last year, if I were him, that message would be my reflection as I bring my term to an end. That picture should be in the office. This picture of Israel will remind him of what he desired to do before God gave him the opportunity and Ghanaians voted for him.”
He added that the president may not have achieved all he planned, but in terms of his legacy, ”and the prayer you [Nana Addo] prayed in Jerusalem that day, are you still committed to it? That should be it for him”.
