Two dead bodies have been exhumed from the Wasa Akropong Cemetry in the Western Region, Rainbow Radio Accra has reported.
Kwabena Tawiah reported that some youths who were digging up a hole for a burial in the coming weeks discovered that the bodies had been exhumed while working on Friday, January 5, 2023.
One of the bodies exhumed was identified as the body of one Sister Belinda, who was buried not long ago, while the other one is yet to be identified by the community members.
“The coffins had been broken and the bodies had been moved from where they were buried, and they placed the mortal remains at a different place, so after they saw that, they decided to call the press for us to come.”
“Someone came to identify one of the bodies as his family members before they decided to go and inform the chiefs to come and perform the necessary rites because this is considered taboo,” Kwame Tawiah said on Rainbow Radio Accra.
