Inflation decreased for the fifth consecutive month in December 2023, reaching a rate of 23.2%.
Details provided by the Ghana Statistical Service revealed that the December 2023 general price level was 23.2 percent.
The figure was higher than what was recorded in December 2022
The Consumer Price Index (CPI) data released on Wednesday, January 10 said food inflation stood at 28.7 percent and non-food inflation recorded 18.7 percent.
Inflation for locally manufactured commodities was 23.8 percent, while import inflation was 21.9 percent.
The Eastern region had the highest food inflation rate of 51.3 percent, while the Upper East had the lowest food inflation rate of 18.8 percent.
Greater Accra ranked 14th out of 16 regions, with a food inflation rate of 22.2 percent.
