Global InfoAnalytics’ Executive Director has stated that the choice of running mate for the 2024 presidential election will have no impact on who wins the contest.
Mr. Musa Dankwa was emphatic that if the choice of running mates can decide who is elected as president in an election, it will not be the same for the 2024 presidential election.
That was his response to the question, “Does the choice of running mate decide who can win?”
In response, he said, “Not in this election.”
He argued that if we are to take the logic of Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia that he was not in charge of managing the country and hence cannot be blamed for some of our challenges, then you have diminished the role of the second gentleman.
He told the host of Frontline on Rainbow Radio 87.5Fm that the choice of running mates for all the key contenders, including John Mahama, Alan Kyerematen, and the Vice President, will have no impact on who becomes the next president.
“If we are to take the logic of Bawumia that he was not in charge, it means every vice president will not be in charge. So you have diminished the role of the Vice President. So unless you are bringing him to appease certain demographics, I don’t see any choice today that will turn the race upside down. Absolutely not! We know all the people that are being discussed and the impact that they will have,” he said.
The 2024 elections, he noted, would be critical for the country, and “I don’t think there would be any candidate aside from Alan, Bawumia, and Mahama that would garner significant votes.”
To him, Ghana is not ready for a’someshwe’ president considering the current state of our economy and needs people with experience to steer it.
