A young man believed to be in his twenties has been assaulted and stripped naked on the campus of the University of Ghana, Legon.
The incident, which is said to have occurred on Monday, January 15, 2024, saw the attackers, who are students, hit him with sticks.
The victim, who was visibly traumatised, walked naked on campus while those who attacked screamed that he was gay.
It has also emerged that the victim was a crossdresser.
While they attacked him and other students looked on from their hostel and asked what the problem was, the individuals
who attacked him screamed that he was gay.
Some of the other students were heard saying, “A young man like you has decided to have anal sex.”.
Another screamed, “Look at your manhood, yet you want to have anal sex.”
Management has yet to respond to the incident, but ten videos have since gone viral on some social media platforms.
A similar incident occurred in a Tamale neighbourhood near the University of Development Studies.
In a video, the victim was also seen being attacked by his attackers after being stripped naked.
The attackers demanded that he hand over his phone while slapping him repeatedly.
