The Northern Region NDC First Vice Chairman, Alhaji Gbewaa, on Saturday assaulted the regional Trusurer, Hajia Shamima Razak over a misunderstanding at NDC Northern Regional Office.
In what is described as party internal disagreement led to the assault of Hajia Shamima living her with several cuts and fountain of blood of her face.
She has since reported the assault to the Northern regional Police command for the arrest and prosecution of Alhaji Gbewaa, NDC Northern Region First Vice Chairman
Meanwhile the parliamentary candidate for the NPP in Sagnarigu, Madam Felicia Tettey has condemned that act and called for an immediate police probe into the matter.
She said “I strongly condemn any form of political violence, especially when it targets women. The recent assault on Hajia Shamima Razak, NDC Northern Regional Trusurer is not only uncalled for but also a grave violation of human rights. It is essential that immediate action is taken to address this issue and ensure that those responsible are held accountable for their actions.”
At the time of Rainbow Radio filing this report, no arrest has been done.
