President Nana Akufo-Addo has admitted to overlooking Ekumfi’s development due to their decision to exclude Francis Ato Cudjoe from the 2020 elections.
Interacting with traditional elders from Ekumfi at the Jubilee House, the president conveyed his displeasure with the voting pattern in the Ekumfi constituency, which he claimed contributed to Ato Cudjoe’s removal from Ghana’s House of Legislation.
He said despite making “him [Ato Cudjoe] a deputy minister,” the constituents still voted against him.
“Ato Cudjoe was your MP and I made him a Deputy Minister and you voted him out in the last elections and because of that, I did not pay attention to development in your area, I have to be honest with you but since you have brought it up I will pay attention to it.”
The Traditional leaders visited Jubilee House to urge the president to invest in development to improve their people’s living standards.
President Akufo-Addo, despite his disappointment, pledged to make every effort to develop the area.
