A young man believed to be in his 30’s has been beaten to pulp at Wassa Akropong in the Wassa Amenfi East Municipality of the Western Region.
The said incident occurred at Wasa Akropong after he was allegedly accused of stealing.
According to a report, the young man, identified as Atta, and his gang syphoned diesel from a car and later went to steal a fridge.
The residents chased them, and unfortunately, Atta was caught and lynched while his friends were able to escape.
Reporting the incident on Nyankonton Mu Nsem on Rainbow Radio 87.5 FM, Odehyeieba said the angry mob beat the young man with clubs, sticks, cutlasses, and other offensive weapons.
He said the residents had complained of the theft of their valuable items, hence setting up a watchdog committee in the area to deal with the issue.
Atta and his associates went to the area to steal, but he was apprehended and assaulted after the other others had escaped.
He was later tied to a high billboard in the area until the next morning.
Meanwhile, Atta has been rushed to the hospital, where he is currently receiving treatment.
