One of the country’s most popular and respected presenters, Kofi Marfo, well known in the radio industry as Sir Richie, has joined the UK’s number one Ghanaian radio station, Rainbow Radio, London.
The renowned journalist, who founded the first Ghanaian newspaper in the UK (GLA News) and was also the editor-in-chief of Sir Richie Newspaper online and www.sirrichie.com, began his first broadcast, “As It Is In Ghana,” on Saturday, January 20, 2024.
Sir Richie, whose opinionated lineup spans both left and right, addressed political matters important to Ghanaians overseas and in Ghana on Rainbow Radio on Saturday between 12 and 15:00.
Sir Richie, in acknowledgement of his new role, said, “I have never been and will never be afraid to lament on things that other broadcasters won’t,” and h promised to hold the corrupt into account without fear or favour.
He stated that he would establish a platform for people to applaud or criticise Ghanaian political figures, since “now more than ever, listeners want candid, intelligent debate where people are free to air their views openly.”
Sir Richie’s new show, “As It Is In Ghana,” is available on Rainbow Radio in London and Ghana on both 92.4 FM and 87.5 FM, and can be listened to on demand at any time.

Sir Richie started his radio career at Radio Mercury in Kumasi in the late 1990s as a newscaster. He also introduced and hosted a programme called “Nsempii,” which he handed over to Kwabena Asare twinoko) b before travelling to London.
He joined Voice of Africa Radio in London as a breakfast show host and also worked with Hotdigital Online and Afriq FM.
Gladys Mensah, Audrey Agyiri, Emmanuel Ashley, and Opanin Asiamah are part of his team, focusing on editorials, community news, financial news, and tradition and culture, respectively.
