National Chairman of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), Stephen Ayensu Ntim has encouraged all aspiring parliamentary candidates in the upcoming primaries to conduct a campaign that
reflects the core values of the NPP.
He challenged them to also conduct a campaign characterized by decorum, mutual
respect, and a steadfast commitment to non-violence.
In a statement, he said the elephant family is built on principles, and it is crucial that the upcoming internal processes, such as the upcoming primaries, serve as
evidence of the party’s commitment to upholding established values of democracy.
He said “I call upon each aspirant to engage in a campaign focusing on the merits of their vision, ideas, and plans for our delegates and constituents. Let us rise above personal
animosities and avoid the pitfalls of divisive rhetoric.
The success of our party lies not
in bringing each other down but rather in building each other up and united in our
common purpose to serve the people of our nation,” he added.
He asked the party to also conduct itself in a manner that will make Ghanaians see the party as one that values respectful discourse, healthy
competition, and democratic processes.
“I wish all aspirants the best in the upcoming parliamentary primaries. May your
respective campaigns be marked by the dignity befitting the NPP, and may the results
propel us towards a resounding victory in the December 2024 presidential and
parliamentary election,” he concluded.
