The Special Prosecutor has withdrawn the application to confirm the seizure and freezing of Cecilia Dapaah’s funds and bank accounts.
The office has also dropped a criminal trial against the former sanitation minister for failing to declare her assets.
The OSP decided after a series of in-chamber hearings on the matter.
The Special Prosecutor seized Cecilia Dapaah’s funds and bank accounts during investigations into corruption, allegedly linked to her house search and corruption-related activities.
Cecilia Dapaah’s attempts to get the OSP to confirm or deny an action have been delayed due to an appeal and a certiorari application, both resulting from a court ruling denying the first application to confirm properties.
The case’s judge took leave and a new one was appointed to preside over the case.
The case has been adjourned to chambers following the initial open court hearing.
