Maurice Ampaw, a private legal practitioner, has declined to attend the Kumasi Traditional Council’s invitation due to allegations of derogatory remarks against the Asantehene.
Lawyer and NPP Ashanti regional chairman Bernard Antwi Bosiajo, known as Wontumi, was given a one-week ultimatum to appear before the council at Manhyia Palace.
Ampaw denied an invitation to a party on Kasapa Radio due to a perceived verbal attack on his integrity.
According to him, he felt insulted by certain traditional leaders, leading him to believe his case was unfairly dismissed.
“I’ve been insulted, and these assaults have been published all over social media, and my enemies are using it against me.
“I’ve been insulted on numerous media platforms. Nobody listened to my side of the story. So why do you expect me to be at Manhyia on Monday?” he questioned.
“You’ve already judged the case,” he added.
