Majority Chief Whip and MP for Nsawam Adoagyiri, Frank Annoh-Dompreh, has expressed strong optimism that he will win the parliamentary primary with over 80 per cent of the total votes.
The MP speaking to journalists after casting his ballot said “I am winning, I told you before, I predicted 80 percent; it may be more.”
He is facing a strong contest from the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Ghana Library Authority, Hayford Siaw.
Speaking on the voting process, the MP indicated “If you look at the turnout, it is impressive. I didn’t have any difficulty. Even though they wanted to give me some courtesy, I resisted it because I wanted to go through the queue and the process. I think it has been smooth, no hitches so far.”
Meanwhile, the Nsawam Adoagyiri New Patriotic Party chairman Francis Acquah has taken the Member of Parliament, Frank Annor Dompreh, to the cleaners.
He has described him as arrogant, divisive, disrespectful, and on a mission to destroy the elephant family in the constituency.
The individual denies any personal animosity towards the MP but expresses disapproval of his arrogance and disregard for party leadership.
Speaking on Frontline on Rainbow Radio 87.5 FM, the chairman told host Kwabena Agyapong that the MP insults and talks to people anyhow.
“I don’t have any personal grudges against him. I only disagree with him on how he conducts his activities and himself. We cannot allow him to destroy the party in our constituency. If he is prepared to work in the constituency and make the party viable, we are prepared to work with him. But if he is not prepared to change his attitude and character, I will also not change.
He is causing division in the party in the constituency. He is not a unifier. He talks to people anyway. He keeps insulting me. I am a 59-year-old man, and he keeps insulting me, dragging me in the mud, and calling me names.”
The party’s chairman said they cannot keep on looking on while the MP destroys the fortunes of the NPP.
“It was about time we put a stop to the rudeness and disrespect. He is arrogant, and my crusade is for him to remain humble and stop attacking people. I am the founding father of the party. You can ask everyone about me.
So I will not allow him to destroy the party.”
He took a further swipe at him, saying he had not even paid attention to the chairman who worked and got him elected as the MP for the constituency.”
