Immediately dissolve the GFA and Black Stars; and withdraw from the World Cup so we put our house in order – Prophet Oduro

Founder and General Overseer of the Alabaster Prayer Ministry, Prophet Kofi Oduro, has called for the immediate dissolution of the Ghana Football Association and the Black Stars team.

The man of God believes the GFA has failed in its mandate and all elected and non-elected officials ought to be removed.

He was reacting to Ghana’s poor performance at the 2023 African Cup of Nations.

Prophet Oduro noted that the dismissal of the coach was not enough and that the FA officials must also be removed.

He further advised the country to officially write to FIFA, announcing its withdrawal from the World Cup for the next five years.

This, he opined, will offer us the opportunity to put our house in order and restore patriotism and better performance in our games.

Speaking to his congregants on Sunday, February 4, 2024, Prophet Oduro lamented that there was no longer patriotism in the team.

He said indiscipline had taken over the team.

The players, he said, now send their girlfriends and other visitors to camp, whereas in the past and the era of Rev. Osei Kofi, patriotism and discipline were the hallmarks.

To this end, he has expressed interest in joining the February 14, 2024, demonstration being organised by some journalists in the bid to save Ghana football.

In his view, when one wears the national jersey, it can be likened to wearing the army, police, immigration, customs, and navy uniforms because you represent the soul and spirit of the nation.

He said the players should know that wearing the national jersey represents our image as a people.

He said the jersey is now sold to players who don’t even understand the soul of the nation, and so when they play, they don’t give it their all since their call-up was surrounded by corruption and not necessarily merit.

He recounted the days when players dedicated themselves to the team without money as motivation but with passion and patriotism.

To him, if it were not for the madness of the GFA, all these challenges would not be happening.

“The first people to be sacked must be the GFA. The Black Stars must be dissolved immediately. We should write to FIFA; for the next five years, we will not be there. We are trying to put our house in order and build a solid team to play together. The local players. Raise a man; they play together for five years; put them on any field, and you will be shocked at what will come out.”
