The Ghana Police Service (GPS) has arrested forty-six more people in connection with the attacks on the Bepong Chiefs Palace and some police officers in Kwahu Bepong, Eastern Region.
The arrest of the 46 new suspects brings the total number of suspects so far arrested to seventy-one (71).

The Police Service had earlier arrested 25 persons in connection with the attack.
The suspects allegedly attacked the Bepong Chiefs Palace on February 4, 2024, and injured seven people, including five police officers.

Some other suspects are still on the run, the Police have said.
A statement issued by the Police said security, law, and order have since been restored in the Bepong township, adding that all the suspects will be put before the court to face justice.

The service added that it has detained 40 suspects linked to various attack roles and evidence, who have been identified to aid in the investigation.
