The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has informed customers, particularly those affected by the dam spillage, that it is addressing the overbilling challenge.
The company said the challenge was mainly due to the non-reading of their post-paid metres.
The customers are those affected by the Akosombo Dam spillage within the North, Central, and South Tongu Districts.
A statement issued by the ECG said it is undertaking a comprehensive meter audit within the affected communities.
This is to help them reconcile the accounts involved and ensure the replacement of their faulty metres without a fee.
ECG asked the affected customers to cooperate with ECG during the exercise.
