Several victims of the dam spillage in Ada have received relief items.
The items were given to them by a group of Ada residents residing in the United Kingdom.
The items that were donated included household items, clothes, bedding, oil, detergent, boxes of sardine, soaps, toiletries, and time maize, among others.
The Union presented the items to the victims on Tuesday, February 6, 2024.
They had mobilised and raised resources from members as part of efforts to help provide some relief to the affected residents.
This was after weeks of appeals on Rainbow Radio 87.5 FM in Ghana and Rainbow Radio 92.4 FM in the United Kingdom.
The items donated were shipped from the United Kingdom by Samamiah Shipping Company, a leading shipping company in the United Kingdom.
It formed part of the company’s corporate social responsibility.
Mr. Frank Agbloe, the leader of the residents in the United Kingdom, stated that they decided to raise resources to donate to the victims of the flood situation.
According to him, the donation was part of their gesture to provide relief to the affected victims.
He added that the donation would go to people who have been affected.
The distribution of the items was given directly to the affected persons, through a list they worked with and in collaboration with Radio Ada.
Some of the victims would receive the relief items and express their gratitude, saying the items would bring them some relief.
