A group calling itself Friends of Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh has written an open letter to Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, asking him to settle on the Energy Minister as his running mate.
The group says the former education minister is not only competent but will be of value to the NPP’s ticket and ensure victory for the party in the 2024 presidential election.
Speaking in an interview on Frontline on Rainbow Radio 87.5 FM, Dennis Okyere Danso Convener of the group explained that Dr. Opoku Prempeh is a man of integrity and credibility.
The presentation of the vision by the vice president was exceptional. He is so good at explaining to Ghanaians his policies and vision as a candidate.
In view of that, we need a vice presidential candidate who is not an armchair person. We don’t want an armchair vice president. We want a vice president who is visible, credible, dedicated, and committed. We need somebody who will support the candidate in his campaign. That is why we have written this letter to the candidate, appealing to him to settle on Dr. Opoku Prempeh.
He argued that Dr. Mathew Opoku Prempeh has consistently demonstrated exceptional leadership skills and a deep understanding of the issues faced by our nation.
His incredible track record, remarkable accomplishments, and unwavering dedication to public service make him a valuable addition to your campaign and a potential asset in future governance,” he said.
He said it is not only the NPP supporters who want him as the running mate but Ghanaians in general.
