The Minority Leader, Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson, has said the resignation of Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu as Majority Leader was surprising.
He has however commended him for his dedicated service.
Given this, he has underscored the need to honour Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu’s decision and refrain from criticism.
“Having been Deputy Majority Whip, Majority Chief Whip, Deputy Majority Leader and Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs, Minority Leader, Majority Leader and Minister for Parliamentary Affairs, he rose full cycle through all the ranks of both Minority and Majority front bench of this august House.”
“Many, including my good self, will attest to his outstanding leadership, brilliance rigour and attention to detail. His uniquely humane and personable nature have always commanded the respect and admiration of his colleagues, he said.
He also urged him to provide some guidance to MPs from both sides of the House when needed.
“As he leaves the Majority front bench now towards his final bow, my earnest wish is that he will be kind to avail his wealthy throve of experience and knowledge to members of this house from both sides, to tap into.
This House, and by extension the good people of Ghana, are exceedingly grateful for his illustrious, selfless and patriotic service. We take this opportunity to wish him the manifold blessings of God Almighty, and the very best in all his endeavours.”
