A Deputy Ranking Member on the Education Committee of Parliament has taken a swipe at the presidential candidate of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, and his associates over their inconsistent communication surrounding the free senior high school policy.
Dr. Clement Apaak says the candidate and assigns of the government keep deceiving Ghanaians that the call for a review was not the best approach, and yet, they have told the International Monterey Fund that they will review the policy.
He lamented that the candidate of the NPP has also, on several occasions, taken a swipe at those who have proposed the need for a review of the policy and referred to that as cancellation.
However, the IMF country report on Ghana’s application for a bailout pointed out clearly that the government has promised to review the policy.
He further referenced Dr. Bawumia’s recent launch of his policy, where he also promised to improve upon it and make it better.
The MP for Builsa South was of the view that this position was not only insincere but dishonest, and such a candidate was not qualified to be elected as president of Ghana.
“One thing is obvious. There is nothing bold in saying different things about the same issue to different categories of people or entities. Such conduct is not only insincere and dishonest but cowardly.”
He also asked Ghanaians to reject Dr. Bawumia and vote massively for Mr. John Dramani Mahama since he is more credible, honest and a man with integrity.
“Reject IMPROVE FSHS in the day and REVIEW FSHS in the night. Reject duplicity. Integrity must count. Vote for JM/NDC.”

“Under my government, Free SHS will continue and we will improve upon it”.
