President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has
opined that Ghana’s territorial integrity cannot be taken for granted.
He claims the government’s intentional efforts in strategic planning to ensure the safety and security of Ghana have yielded results.
He made the remarks during the delivery of the State of the Nation address on Tuesday, February 27, 2024.
He said the country has remained unaffected by the extremism witnessed in neighbouring countries due to meticulous planning.
He said the government has resourced the armed forces and all security agencies, emphasizing the allocation of resources to ensure their readiness.
He asserted that the country was safe saying, “Our nation is safe and secure.”
He cited the threats posed by extremism in other parts of West Africa and cautioned against taking the territorial integrity of the country for granted.
