Over 99% of gays we’ve taken through treatment and reformation have tested positive for HIV – Foh Amoaning reveals

The Executive Secretary of the National Coalition for Proper Human Sexual Rights and Family Values, Moses Foh-Amoaning, has disclosed that over 99% of LGBTQI+ persons who have undergone treatment courtesy of the organisation have tested positive for HIV/AIDS.

The private legal practitioner disclosed that his organisation has offered treatment to over 400 individuals who were homosexuals.

He said the disturbing factor was that over 99% of these individuals tested positive for HIV.

This, he lamented, was disturbing, and it affirms their argument that the activities of homosexuality are not only an affront to our cultural, religious, and societal values but also a threat to public health.

According to him, since the inception of the organisation, they have provided support to people who are willing to stop being homosexuals, and the cost involved is overwhelming.

Speaking in an interview with Kwabena Agyapong on Rainbow Radio 87.5 FM, the lawyer further disclosed that they spend not less than $102 a month on an individual for treatment, care, and counselling.

He lamented that no one has provided any support except the various religious groups, particularly the churches that are members of the Coalition.

He also shot down assertions that the Coalition was promoting hate against members of the LGBTQI+ community in Ghana.

He noted that people who are opposed to the anti-LGBTQI+ bill are only engaging in propaganda, misinformation, and lies just to deceive the public.

He explained that the Coalition would not have spent over $10,000 on the reformation of homosexuals if it hated them.

“We don’t hate gays. It is all lies. If you hear people saying that our Coalition hates them and that we are advocating for people to hate them, hoot at the person and tell them that they are lying. We have treated over 400 people who were homosexuals. The unfortunate thing is that over 99% of them have tested positive for HIV. So tell me if this is something we should entertain as a country.”

He went on to reveal that those who advocate for the activities of the LGBTQI+ to be accepted have resources and are recruiting young people, especially in our secondary schools.

These categories of people, he said, are the ones who would be jailed should the law be enacted by the president.

He said that people who practice gay sex may go through compulsory treatment and counselling should they show any form of remorse if they are dragged to court.

He said the information that all gays would be thrown into jail if the law were enacted is not entirely true.

He stressed that if the person is remorseful and agrees to the treatment, care, and counselling, then that individual would escape the jail term.

“Those who are advocating, sponsoring, and pushing the agenda of LGBTQI+ activities are the ones who would be sentenced.”
