Students at Ejisu SHS displaced after a heavy downpour

A rainstorm ripped off the roof of the boys’ dormitory at Ejisu Senior High Technical School, displacing about 150 students.

The incident happened on Saturday, March 2, 2024.

Following the incident, the students sought cover in classrooms on Saturday.

The students were in the dining hall when the incident occurred.

The severe rain also wrecked teaching and learning materials, as well as the school’s warehouse, which houses textbooks and other supplies.

The rain also ruined seven more classrooms.

Authorities have stepped in and provided temporary housing for the affected pupils, while engineers and staff of the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO) from the Ejisu Municipal Assembly have begun an assessment of the damage.
