GPS mourns three officers who died through a fatal accident at Kyekyewere

The Ghana Police Service has reacted to the deaths of some three officers who died in a fatal accident today, Wednesday, March 27, 2024.
 
A brief statement issued by the police revealed that the officers were on their way for police operational duties.
 
The police said they will communicate the full details surrounding the accident after the bereaved families are formally informed.

Three police officers are believed to have died in an accident in Kyekyewere, a neighbourhood of Ayensuano in the Eastern Region.

The officers are said to be part of a squad sent to the Kwahu enclave to perform responsibilities during the four-day National Paragliding Festival.

The FPU truck in the police escort crashed into a nearby bush after going off the road and summersaulting.

The doors of the FPU vehicle involved in the accident were ripped off, and the windscreen damaged.

With a heavy heart, the Ghana Police Service mourns three of our gallant officers who lost their lives in a fatal accident today at Kyekyewere along the Accra – Kumasi Highway while on their way for Police operational duties.

In line with Ghanaian tradition and the Ghana Police Service Regulations, full details will be communicated after the bereaved families are formally informed.
