The Minister for Justice and Attorney General Godfred Yeboah Dame has described as false the claims that he lacks interest in legal challenges against the constitutionality of the Sexual Human Rights and Family Values Bill.
He was responding to suggestions by the NDC that he showed interest and wrote to the Supreme Court to expedite the trial in the application by South Dayi MP, Rockson Nelson Dafeamekpor, against the approval of ministerial and deputy ministerial nominees while the case against the anti-LGBTQ Bill filed earlier by Richard Sky is still pending before the court.
The Minister indicated that the assertions by the NDC that there was judicial bias against their cases are unfounded and without merit.
Addressing a press conference, the Minister explained that “We have filed an affidavit in that matter. So I think all these comments are unwarranted and, indeed are baseless. We actually filed an affidavit to answer in the Richard Sky matter before this one.”
