Global Info Analytics has reacted to claims that its methodology for conducting its research is not rigorous.
The Executive Director of Global Info Analytics, Musah Danquah, fought off such dissent, describing them as ill-informed.
He noted that the methodology used by the research group is not skewed to favour anyone, a group of people from a political party.
Director of Communications for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Richard Ahiagbah, recently raised concerns about the methodology used by Global Info Analytics to gather data.
He was responding to the release of a report that indicates that 65% of voters believe Ghana is heading in the wrong direction.
The report disclosed that 62% of Ghanaians disapprove of President Akufo-Addo’s performance, while 52% believe the government has performed very poorly.
Reacting to these analyses, Mr. Ahiagbah said the survey does not represent the total population of the country.
But responding to the concerns, Musah Danquah said some have made claims that our research is scanty and does not represent the entire population. However, what they should know is that the research was for a purpose, and if the party wants, they can contract others to conduct further probes.
Research is expensive, and we cannot conduct the work as these politicians expect and do it for free but we have adopted a rigorous methodology, so if you want further investigation, contract someone to do it and use open-ended questions. When reporting on such a report, it will be comprehensive. These types of research are done by policy think tanks because of their time and resources. We do not have the time, so we provide you with the clue and what must be going on.”
Speaking on Frontline on Rainbow Radio 87.5FM, he said that his outfit has remained professional, ethical, and, most importantly, unbias in its research.
He stressed that Global Info Analytics is not a think tank but a private company specialising in political risk forecasting for investor clients, not only within Ghana but across Africa and beyond.
He told the host that the methodology employed in their polling involves the use of mathematical formulas and statistical principles to determine sample sizes.
There are laid-down formulas that have been prescribed for use in calculating the sample size, he said.
