Member of Parliament for Builsa South, Dr. Clement Apaak, has taken a swipe at the government’s refusal to release a timetable for the ongoing power outages.
He said instead of the government releasing a timetable to help Ghanaians plan their lives and activities, the government has followed an idiotic strategy in justifying the issue.
In a post on his official X page, formerly Twitter, the lawmaker said the incompetent and failed Nana Addo and Abawunia government cannot deny that Ghanaians are experiencing power outages, popularly known as dumsor.
Several government appointees have claimed that we are only experiencing a technical challenge and not dumsor.
But Dr. Apaak is questioning why the officials of the state and the Electricity Company of Ghana will tell Ghanaians there is no DUMSOR when Ghanaians live and feel it.
He further commended the Public Unitlity Regulation (PURC) for imposing a fine on the ECG board members.
He said rather than releasing the timetable, the ECG is rather engaging in barefaced lies in an infantile attempt to cover the dumsor Ghanaians are experiencing.
“Rather than do the needful by giving us a load management timetable so that Ghanaians can plan, ECG has resorted to barefaced lies in an infantile attempt to cover up. The PURC must be highly commended for boldly exposing this prevaricating government and its appointees on the ECG board.”
He also recounted how the lights went off while the Public Accounts Committee was sitting in Sunyani over the weekend.
“DUMSOR visited us at the ongoing PAC sitting at EUSBETT Hotel in Sunyani. The lights unexpectedly went off during Hon. Dafeamekpor’s interrogation of KMA. The hotel has now turned on its generators.”

He also wrote “GIVE US A DUMSOR TIMETABLE: The shameless attempt to deny the presence of the current self-evident DUMSOR is a very idiotic strategy by this failed Akufo-Addo/Bawumia NPP gov’t. Is Dumsor (Akan pronunciation: [dum sɔ] ‘off and on’) not defined as persistent, irregular, and unpredictable electric power outage? Is this not what Ghanaians are experiencing? How can the ECG and government officials tell Ghanaians there is no DUMSOR when Ghanaians live and feel it?
Rather than do the needful by giving us a load management timetable so that Ghanaians can plan, ECG has resorted to barefaced lies in an infantile attempt to cover up. The PURC must be highly commended for boldly exposing this prevaricating government and its appointees on the ECG board. This disregard for Ghanaians and the laws of the land are additional reasons why Ghanaians must vote out the NPP in the national polls later this year.
#DumsorMustStop”
