Two siblings, Andy Dogbe, 6, and his younger sister Daniella Dogbe, 3, have been burned to ashes at Wassa Amponsaso in the Wassa East district of the western region.
The tragic incident occurred last evening (April 25, 2024) between the hours of 8 and 9 p.m., while the two were sleeping and their mother was taking a bath.
Mr. Omega Alex, an eyewitness to a painful incident, reported that it occurred at night when children were asleep and other house inhabitants were having a social conversation on the premises, as reported by Nyankonton Mu Nsem on Rainbow Radio 87.5FM.
They suddenly heard an explosive sound from the particular room where the children were asleep, followed by fire.
They made all efforts to rescue the children,
but all to no avail.
The father of the children, Mr. Stephen Mawule Dogbe, also explained that he had travelled to Cape Coast when he got a distress call that a fire had gutted his residence at Wassa Amponsaso. As a result, his two children had been burned to death.
The mother of the children, Madam Edina Dogbe, who could not control her tears, said she was taking her bath when the incident occurred.
The bodies have been deposited at the Twifo Praso government mortuary by the Wassa Atobiase police while investigations are ongoing.
